Timeless Classic

What began in 1908 as the Converse Rubber Shoe Company has evolved into a modern sneaker brand synonymous with just-rolled-out-of-bed coolness. Converse made its first rubber-soled sneaker in 1910. The first Converse All Star basketball shoe was produced in 1917. Soon after that, the semi-pro basketball player Charles “Chuck” Taylor joined the Converse sales team and, by 1932, his name was printed on the ankle patch of every pair of All Stars. Ultimately, Chuck Taylor became the face of Converse shoes. For years, Chuck Taylors kept Converse at the top of the market. But everything changed in the latter half of the 20th century.
